I am Martha

to me
I am Martha. I've said it, I've identified with it, and I have learned to find balance and not feel guilty for it. I have always wondered how it would feel to be Mary. I tell myself this story that she just lives freely for God, responsibility free, and if only I did full-time ministry for a living, I could be Mary. I tell myself I would have more time to sit at his feet, admire him, and if I had that, I would be closer and more on fire for Him.
What a lie of the enemy! God has reminded me over, and over, and over.........And over..that His Word says "draw nigh to me, and I will draw nigh to you". Do you know there is not one scripture in the Bible that declares "how much" time we should give God.. it does say "daily bread."
Don't allow the enemy to discourage you if your time doesn't look like someone else's time. Martha served Jesus too, Martha spent time with Jesus too, and Martha loved Jesus too.
Keep your balance, spend time with God daily, but don't let the enemy trick you into believing because you are busy, that the intentional time you give God weighs any less than Mary's. The bible never said Jesus loved or chose Mary over Martha. HE LOVED AND CHOSE THEM BOTH!
Jesus, thank you for always reminding me (us) that even my busy path was ordained by you, and as long as I continue to draw near to you, you will draw near to me! After all, I can't do anything apart from you, but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
